Equipment Name: Anti-Mass Spectrometer
Equipment Abilities: The Anti-Mass Spectrometer is a room-sized piece of equipment located in Anomalous Materials Laboratory test chamber C-33/a at the Black Mesa Research Facility that is used to analyze exotic materials such as Xen crystals.
Regular mass spectrometers are used to measure the mass and relative concentration of atoms and molecules, allowing the chemical composition and structure of a substance to be analyzed. This process does not work for exotic matter that has anti-mass (negative mass). The Anti-Mass Spectrometer works by scanning a sample with oscillating electromagnetic fields and beams of high-energy plasma, agitating the exotic matter of the Xen crystals. This results in currents of displacement energy within the crystal, which forms noticeable displacement fields that can be analyzed using advanced sensors developed by the Lambda labs. Samples are brought into the Test Chamber by a lift from the lower levels and is held by a cart to be pushed by a person.
Despite the high levels of energy used in the experiments (running the spectrometer requires the use of a HEV Suit, and the process places a visible strain on the entire facility's power sources), it is a typically safe procedure.
Both the spectrometer and the teleportation machines in the Lambda Complex are essentially similar: possessing similar appearances and generating the same unique sound in operation, the two technologies are related. On the basis of this similarity, the Lambda machine's reliance on a committed nuclear reactor, coupled with the power outages that occur whilst the experiment takes place (the Anti-Mass Spectrometer requires an immense amount of power to operate).

Weapon/Equipment Description: Some scientists wear a special full-body hazard suit, known as the HEV suit or H.E.V. suit, H.E.V. standing for Hazardous EnVironment. Designed to protect the user from radiation, energy discharges, and blunt trauma during the handling of hazardous materials, the HEV suit is what allows an ordinary human being, to survive the dangers and injuries he faces over the course of his struggles.
The HEV Mark IV suit has a built-in flashlight, Geiger counter, morphine administrator (which allows a human to function normally even after serious injury), anti-toxin delivery system, an optional Long Jump Module which allows jumps over large distances, a radio, tracking devices, and a heads-up display (HUD) which tracks health status and weapon ammunition usage, as well as including a weapons management system. The suit contains an on-board computer system that constantly monitors the user's health and vital signs, and reacts to any changes in the user's condition. Additionally, the suit has an electrically hardened armor system that can be charged by power modules throughout Black Mesa. While charged, the suit provides greater protection from injury as the charge absorbs more than two-thirds of any damage or trauma experienced by the wearer. With a fully charged suit, the user can survive several dozen bullets of small arms fire or even a direct hit from a rocket propelled grenade (but suffering damage) The suit also features an optional helmet.

There are dedicated HEV suit chargers scattered throughout the Black Mesa facility, showing us that HEV usage was widespread throughout the Black Mesa Research Facility. In addition, generic power sources (Ohm's) can also be used to draw power for the HEV suit, though these only appear in the more-neglected areas of the facility. Dedicated PCV chargers are made, but they only appeared in key parts of the facility controlled by the military. In the neglected parts of the facility, there are old HEV Chargers that have a different shape. These usually work like the "newer" models, but some are prone to exploding.

Weapon/Equipment Description: Some scientists wear a special full-body hazard suit, known as the HEV suit or H.E.V. suit, H.E.V. standing for Hazardous EnVironment. Designed to protect the user from radiation, energy discharges, and blunt trauma during the handling of hazardous materials, the HEV suit is what allows an ordinary human being, to survive the dangers and injuries he faces over the course of his struggles.
The HEV Mark IV suit has a built-in flashlight, Geiger counter, morphine administrator (which allows a human to function normally even after serious injury), anti-toxin delivery system, an optional Long Jump Module which allows jumps over large distances, a radio, tracking devices, and a heads-up display (HUD) which tracks health status and weapon ammunition usage, as well as including a weapons management system. The suit contains an on-board computer system that constantly monitors the user's health and vital signs, and reacts to any changes in the user's condition. Additionally, the suit has an electrically hardened armor system that can be charged by power modules throughout Black Mesa. While charged, the suit provides greater protection from injury as the charge absorbs more than two-thirds of any damage or trauma experienced by the wearer. With a fully charged suit, the user can survive several dozen bullets of small arms fire or even a direct hit from a rocket propelled grenade (but suffering damage) The suit also features an optional helmet.

Weapon/Equipment Abilities: A Holographic Assistant, also known as Holographic Guide, is a technology used by Black Mesa to replace live assistants in monitoring the personnel's training.
Used in the Black Mesa's Hazard Course, the assistant directs scientists and security guards to the different hazards they might meet during their work at Black Mesa. Scientists are above all trained to the use of the HEV Suit during the standard Hazard Course, while security guards go through less dangerous tests, since they are only protected by their simple helmets and Kevlar vests, during the Black Mesa Hazard Course for Security Guard Training.
Additional scientists often monitor the trainings from nearby examination rooms.
Holography is also used by Black Mesa scientists for sending messages.

Weapon/Equipment Description: Utilized by HECU forces, the Tactical Map role is to coordinate air strikes against targets. The operation of the Tactical Map is quite simple as to move the crosshair by moving two switches and the start button which would launch mortar fire on the specified area.

Weapon/Equipment Description: When idle, the screen is blue. When used, it turns to orange and shows a green circle around a flesh-colored dot. When the access is granted, a beep can be heard. When the access is denied, a voice says "Access denied".
In the old area of the facility Hand Scanners and different Chargers are used. They were the primary scanners used in Black Mesa in past, subsequently replaced by Retinal Scanners in the modernized areas of the facility.
The "most modern" retinal scanner is rare, and only appears in certain areas. The screen, when activated, shows a clockwise circling of a crosshair-like scanner process around an orange retinal image.
The beeping sounds of the common version vary. Sometimes briefly, sometimes very long, and either high or low.
