The Skylance base, nicknamed, "Checkpoint Life" by the locals and troopers stationed there, is located in the middle of the Slums. It takes about six blocks and is walled. There is only one entrance, and that entrance is heavily guarded. Although the base was only recently set up, they have already begun operations to make the Slums a better place to live, setting up food stations for the poor to eat, remaking houses and giving out proper clothing and shelters. Security and Skylance Riot Police are always patrolling the Slums in heavily armored fast vehicles. The Riot Police themselves are off-duty Lance Corps troopers, armed with Rio-T Armor, and with non-lethal weaponry, such as tasers and bean-bag guns, and of course, Riot Shields. Checkpoint Life has two of its six blocks dedicated to treating the sick living in the Slums, another two feeding and clothing the people living in the Slums, and the last two dedicated to military purposes. Even though it was recently placed, Checkpoint Life is liked by many of the people and aliens living in the Slums. Riot Police often keep the peace by forcing down and or beating down the local gang wars to submission, and they do it fast, brutal, and strike fear into gangs. But when their not forcing the peace, they aid locals with whatever problems they have.
Checkpoint Life also has established a community that is rapidly becoming a better place to live among the Slums, relations between the Slums and the Skylance are increasing all the time.
Faced with the problems of crime and murders, the Skylance has began sharing plans to construct a wall to block off the 'good' part of the Slums that Checkpoint Life has createdm from the 'bad' part that the Riot Police cannot work on.
